The Eastern Front

Israel National News issued some scant reports today on random terror attacks (rock throwing, etc.) being performed by Palestinians in Yhudah and the Shomron today. As Wizbang notes, YNet issued a report yesterday, stating that "Al Aqsa announced that it's going start attacking Israeli cities from the West Bank."

Of course, this is no surprise. Why not take advantage of the chaos? But it looks like the big machas behind the little terrorists occupying our territory will get pulled into the mix this time. Wizbang includes a report from Ha'aretz:

Israel has concrete evidence that Hezbollah plans to transfer the two Israel Defense Forces soldiers abducted Wednesday to Iran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said Thursday.

"We have concrete evidence that Hezbollah plans to transfer the kidnapped soldiers to Iran. As a result, Israel views Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran as the main players in the axis of terror and hate that endangers not only Israel, but the entire world," AFP quoted Deputy Director General of the Foreign Ministry Gideon Meir as saying.

Fab analysis over at Stingray concludes that, if this report proves to be true, Israel will target Syria, Iran, and the Palestinian infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza. He also concludes that:

What now looks like a drawn-out war may well turn out to be a fairly short war as Israel will probably decide to mercilessly pound the enemy into a pulp instead of allowing things to drag out they did in the last major fight with Lebanon back in 1982. By minimizing the length of the war, Israel will prevent a “peace movement” from forming either in Israel or the US. The Islamofascists are masters of media manipulation and the western media are willing partners in disseminating their lies (see Mere Rhetoric’s excellent article on how the Washington Post interprets compromise to really mean Israeli surrender).

While I always prefer to remain pragmatic on these matters, I'll hazard to say that I agree with these theories-- what can I say, but that they make logical sense and they gel with my Ruach. Baruch haShem, may it be so.
